I started running in 2008 and ran many 10k fundraising races in aid of cancer charities but in 2010 I increased my mileage and took part in half marathons and then in 2011 I managed to secure a place in London Marathon 2012. Stepping up from half marathon’s to full marathons was very hard and I started suffering with niggling injuries in my knees. I discussed this with Jason and he suggested doing some prescribed weight training to strengthen the muscles in my legs, lower back and strengthen my core to try and prevent injuries from long distance runs…..
I’m pleased to say that I completed the London Marathon in 4 hours 13 minutes and suffered no injuries… and then went on to complete Yorkshire Marathon in October 2013 and again suffered no injuries. I honestly believe that it the specific weight training with Jason that prevented me suffering any injuries.
I signed up for a course of personal training sessions with Jason, and had dedicated training session with him twice a week. Now these sessions are not for the faint hearted…..as Jason works up for the full hour and if he allows you short rest periods for drink then your very lucky!!!
I have had a number of personal trainers over the last 6 years and I have previously been frustrated with personal trainers repeatedly doing the same programme with me as they do with their other clients, or they spend the hour discussing their personal issues….I was paying them to train me and I found myself being their counsellor!!
However, when I started training with Jason I was pleasantly surprised and even after training with Jason for over 12 months, no one training session is the same. In all honesty he makes the insanity training craze like a walk in the park!!!!
If you’re looking for a real trainer that will train you to your maximum and not what you think is your max then Jason is the trainer for you. I can’t recommend Jason enough as a personal trainer, he is an expert in his field through personal experience and not from completing different courses!!!
